The History of Automatic Forex

We have been actively trading in the currency market since 2002.  We started as a forex signal provider in July 2004.  During this time, we believed in predictive types of trading systems, based on statistical indicators of past trading action.  We had built complete automatic trading systems, and informed our subscribers of every action the systems took on our own accounts.

In early 2005, we began to investigate the MetaTrader trading platform and MetaQuotes trading languages.

After intensive research and development in trading methods and the MetaTrader platform -- especially the MetaQuotes language -- we offer Expert Advisors for MetaTrader that execute reactive-corrective trend trading, arbitrage trading, and positive-swap hedge trading.  The reactive-corrective trend trading method was what emerged as we abandoned predictive types of trading, and eventually our reactive-corrective strategies were replaced by statistical arbitrage and interest accumulative hedging.  Arbitrage and interest accumulative hedge trading are well known methods, but our implementations of them are unique.

Our R&D focused on "dense grid" trading for a time, and we still use a form of very sparse grids in our hedge trading.  However, we learned that the excitement of grid trading is outweighed by risk and inefficiencies.  There are better alternatives.

Robert C. "Bob" Cochran, Founder/Owner

Bob was born and raised in Minnesota. His formal education includes degrees in music and computer science. He served in the US Army for four and a half years as a Russian-language-trained signals intelligence analyst.  Today, Bob lives in Arizona with his wife and two children. He has 19 years of professional experience in the finance, avionics and telecommunications industries as a systems analyst, systems engineer and software engineer.

In Bob's view, active investing and trading should be taken seriously by everyone who has the ability and means.

A classically trained trombonist who also enjoys playing jazz, Bob is active with several music groups in the Phoenix area.  He maintains a trombone-related web site.
